Resources
Good resources for working with young adults (18-20/30-somethings) used to be nearly impossible to find. Recently, more good materials have become available. These are some of the resources that I have found useful while working with young adults. If you have some favorites not listed here, let me know.
Threads is probably one of the most useful site for young adult ministry. There are great articles and the store has some of the best Bible study curriculum geared for young adults. When I’m looking for curriculum, this is the first place I look.
If you’re studying or living in the place where faith intersects culture, Relevant is a must read magazine. It discusses the artists, secular and faith-professing, to whom young adults are listening–which helps keep you up on the popular culture in which young adults are living. There are also great articles and leader resources for those working with young adults.
Neue is Relevant Magazine’s replacement for it’s excellent, Relevant Leader Magazine, which came with their resource box. (The box is still available, with lots of great resources–pricey, but worth it.) Each issue is packet with great ideas, resources, articles, etc. It’s more than a resource, it’s a network for people trying to connect with the younger generation and other leaders trying to reach 20-somethings.

Noomas are amazingly well done videos that communicate biblical truth to a visual generation. I can hardly keep my set in the office–people keep borrowing them! Each includes a study guide. Use them as a class, to reinforce a principle or lend them out to young adults.
Small groups are the foundation of successful young adult ministry. Small Group Exchange is a great resource for ideas, group resources, leader tips, encouragement and more.
Bluefish TV, no, it’s not a TV show, it’s a video resource. They have great DVD-based curriculum and their fishing license allows you to purchase videos at an extremely affordable price.
